International Education Corporation's history dates to 1982 when United Electronics Institute was founded in Los Angeles County, California. In 1989, the corporation expanded to become United Education Institute (UEI) to reflect the addition of a broader range of training programs in the career education field.
Historically, our company has grown through acquisitions as well as through organic growth. The International Education Corporation (IEC) holding company was formed in 1996 to accommodate plans for organic growth through expansion of existing UEI programs, opening new branch campuses and adopting curricula into existing colleges.
In 1998, IEC completed the acquisition of Advanced Career Training (ACT), a career school business that has been delivering quality, career-focused academic programs since 1975. ACT became United Education Institute (UEI) in January, 2010.
In 2009, the eight Southern California United Education Institute campuses became UEI College to further expand their program offerings and include degree granting curriculum.
International Education Corporation acquired the American Auto Institute in Cerritos, CA in July of 2009. This campus officially became a UEI College location in August 2009 and relocated to Gardena, CA, where it welcomed its first students in January 2011.
In July 2010, IEC acquired MCed College in Fresno, CA and converted this campus to UEI College. In early 2012, IEC acquired Emergency Training Services. Now named UEI College Santa Cruz, the emergency medical training school is reputed in Central California for high-caliber medical training and education.
Today, IEC is the parent company of both UEI College and United Education Institute, operating a total of seventeen schools nationwide.
UEI College's first campus was established in Van Nuys, CA in October of 1983. Since then, additional Southern California sites have opened, including campuses in Huntington Park (September, 1989), San Diego (October, 1990), Ontario (June, 1997), Chula Vista (August, 1999), San Bernardino (September, 1999), El Monte (March, 2005), San Marcos (March, 2010), Anaheim (March, 2010), Gardena (January, 2011), Riverside (March, 2011), Stockton (September, 2011), Santa Cruz (January, 2012) and Bakersfield (March, 2012). UEI College's main campus is the Huntington Park location.
UEI campus is located in Morrow, Georgia. Campus was in full operation when IEC acquired them in 1998.
We respect our past as we have trained, educated and placed thousands of students who are now leaders within their specific areas. We have also learned a great deal and embrace the simplicity of the major levels of our enterprise, as well as the complexity of operating effectively in the education space. With the extensive knowledge, depth and breadth of experience of our management team in the “education” sector, we are very well positioned to enjoy growth with quality, integrity, and a strong commitment to excellence.
We plan to grow organically by increasing distribution lines through new branches and other viable delivery models. Moreover, we plan to facilitate our growth through strategic acquisitions, enabling us to design and build a platform that would support multiple programmatic verticals serving students from diploma through high level degree programs. With IEC’s long history, experience and top talent, we are poised to achieve the extraordinary.
